Should Mexico qualify to the Beijing Olympics, “El Tri” will return to the United States for two send-off matches in July en route to China.

The Mexican Olympic Team will have an opportunity to play preparatory matches as well as play in front of its well-known passionate Mexican fan base in the United States. The Olympic tour will also present an opportunity to cheer on young household names such as Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa and rising stars such as Luis Ángel Landín, Pablo Barrera and César Villaluz.

The Mexican Olympic Team tour is an extension of SUM’s five-year business relationship with FMF. SUM represents all commercial interests of the full Mexican National team on U.S. soil and is coming off a successful 2007 Tour that spanned the U.S. and averaged more than 50,000 fans. The Mexican National team’s U.S. Tour 2008 dates, in its fifth edition, will be announced in the coming weeks.

The FMF’s U.S. sponsors – adidas, Allstate, AT&T, Budweiser, Chase, Coca-Cola, Cuervo, Makita, NAPA, and Visa – are also the official Mexican Olympic team tour sponsors and will also offer the now-popular Futbol Fiesta, the interactive fan zone that spans more than 100,000 square feet, prior to the each game, including live music and offers promotional items.
