Pizza Hut Park joins Soccer Stadium Alliance
Alliance aims to attract more live entertainment events to soccer specific stadiums.
FRISCO, Texas – Pizza Hut Park and 6 other soccer specific stadiums have joined together to form the Soccer Stadium Alliance. Pizza Hut Park joins Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado, Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas, PPL Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Oregon and BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Soccer Stadium Alliance has retained the services of Donnie Frizzell of Modern Music Services, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in the concert industry.
“Hunt Sports Group is very excited to have their two venues participating in the Alliance,” said John Wagner, President of Hunt Sports Group, owner of Columbus Crew Stadium and Pizza Hut Park. “These uniquely designed soccer specific stadiums are scalable as they provide close up and individual seating for 12,000 to 35,000 and present a terrific alternative to outdoor amphitheaters.”
Soccer specific stadiums are the home venues of Major League Soccer. Columbus Crew Stadium was the first soccer specific stadium and since its opening, nine other soccer specific stadiums, including Pizza Hut Park, have been opened. A 10th will open in 2012 and others will follow.
“I am very excited to represent these venues in the live entertainment industry. The Alliance buildings are owned by some of the most respected names in sports. I feel that respect will carry over into the music industry,” said Donnie Frizzell, Managing Member of Modern Music Services. “Artists who may be on an arena tour, are less likely to reconfigure their production set to play outdoor if one or two venues approached them, but when an Alliance of 7-10 buildings reaches out with an interest, that is a different story. We already have agents reaching out to us to route their artists through our buildings.“
